The "Collossus" by Leonardo.  It was a 24 foot statue and weighed 80 tons of bronze.  Created in 1482.

The anemoter from da Vinci.  It was designed in 1483-1486.

Leonardo's design of the parachute is quite amazing.  It looks near to the same as the modern one except the modern parachute has some more strings.  Designed by Leonardo in 1483.  Was first put into  use in 1913.

The first design of an airplane.  Leonardo made  the first real studies of flight in the 1480's.  Above is one of hundreds of designs created by him of aeronautics.  First put into use in 1903.

The crossbow drawn by da Vinci.  It was designed to launch darts farther then the small crossbows.  It was designed in 1488. 

An eight barreled machine gun also designed by da Vinci.  First used in 1718.A modern gun used in warfare.  The gun is able to fire multiple bullets. 

The Leonardo version of a helicopter.  This shows how much he was ahead of his time.  It was designed by Leonardo in 1493.  It was first used in 1907 by two french brothers, Jacques and Louis Breguet. 

This is the modern look at a helicopter.  It has obviously advanced greatly since the first drawing of a helicopter.

Driven by men turning gear cranks, which turned the wheels. The dome is made to replicate the shell of the turtle and helps to deflect enemy projectiles.  Was a success in breaking through enemy lines.  It was first designed b Leonardo in 1487.  It was first used in 1939.
